PARIS, Ky. – Senior
Micah Stangebye captured the individual title as the Kentucky State men's golf team placed third at the 2025 SIAC Men's Golf Championship, held at Houston Oaks Golf Course.
Stangebye opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 74 (+2) before surging in the final round. He carded six birdies and an eagle en route to a 6-under 66—just one stroke off the course record—to finish at 2-under 214 and secure the top spot on the leaderboard.
Robert Johnson also delivered a strong finish. After posting an 80 in each of the first two rounds, he bounced back with a 2-under 70 in the final round, marking a 10-stroke improvement from Tuesday. He finished tied for sixth.
Garrison Barton steadily improved each round, opening with an 81 and shaving one stroke in the second round (80) before firing a 75 in the final round to claim 14th place.
Cadyn Sava battled through each round as well, improving from an opening 85 to a 79 in the second round and finishing with a 75 to take 17th.
Jean-Marc Chevrotiere followed close behind, recording consecutive rounds of 80 before closing with an 81 to finish 18th.
Competing as an individual, Demar Jones shot an 86 in the opening round and followed with a pair of 82s to close out the event.
