BIRIMINGHAM, Ala. – In the final day of the SIAC Crossover Kentucky State Softball takes a pair of losses against Fort Valley State and Savannah State.
G1 | KENTUCKY STATE 1, FORT VALLEY STATE 8
After a first inning score from the Wildcats the Thorobreds were able to tie the game on a homerun from Aaliyah Young tied the game 1-1 in the fourth inning.
Fort Valley State added two runs in the fifth, three runs in the sixth and two runs in the seventh to defeat Kentucky State 8-1.
Theresa Pelland led the effort on the mound pitching the entire game while leading all pitchers with eight strikeouts.
G2 | KENTUCKY STATE 2, SAVANNAH STATE 3
The first run of game two came as
Jorden Bowman reached on a dropped third strike while
Savannah Teale crossed home plate to give the Thorobreds a 1-0 in the second inning.
In the fourth inning the Tigers scored three runs to give them a 3-1 lead.
At the top of the seventh inning
Tayler Floyd reached on a fielder's choice allowing
Aaliyah Long to score, but the Thorobreds would still come up short and take a 3-1 loss.
UP NEXT
The Thorobreds will return to Kentucky and head to Crestview Hills to face the Thomas More Saints in doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. on March 18.
