JACKSON, Tenn. – Junior
Gregory Melvin leads Kentucky State men's basketball with 23 points in the Thorobreds 116-81 loss at Lane Monday night in Jackson, Tennessee.
Melvin made 10 shots from the field and went 2-of-2 at the free-throw line for his 23 points on the night.
Senior
Lavar Miller Jr. led the Thorobreds with five assists, scoring 16 points on the night.
Melvin led both teams in the first half with 15 points; although the Dragons shot over 60% (19-of-31) from the field, they went over 70% (11-of-15) at the free-throw line that helped them take a 53-41 first-half lead.
Lane capitalized on 12 Kentucky State turnovers for 18 points in the second half, adding 28 points in the paint and 18 three-pointers to secure a 116-81 victory over the Thorobreds.
