BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kentucky State men's basketball couldn't overcome a stout first half from Miles in their 79-50 loss Wednesday night in Birmingham, Alabama.
Senior guard Justin Edmonson led the Thorobreds with a season-high of 17 points and recorded a season high of six rebounds.

Morgan Brewer tallied 10 points and rebounds to record a double-double on the night.
The Golden Bears opened the first half with a pair of back-to-back three-pointers as the short run was ended on a jumper by Brewer at the 16:14 mark.
Both teams saw a few minutes with a scoring drought, but the Golden Bears would find their rhythm going on a late run that was capped by three-pointer that gave them a 27-point 46-19 advantage their largest lead of the half with 1:17 remaining.
In the final seven minutes of the second half the Golden Bears took a 34-point 75-41 lead that was halted by a layup from Brewer on the following possession with 2:44 left in regulation.
Brewer scored the final points on a lay-up in the Thorobreds 79-50 loss to the Golden Bears.
