FRANKFORT, Ky. – Amina Seck's double-double kept Kentucky State within reach, but Allen pulled away late for a 66–57 win.
Seck led all scorers with 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, including 10 on the defensive end and six on the offensive glass.
Aaliyah Hayes shot 50% from the field (5-of-10) to finish with 11 points and matched teammate
Amaya Asher with a team-high four assists.
Kentucky State held a 40–22 advantage in points in the paint, but Allen capitalized on 24 Thorobred turnovers to score 30 points.
Allen outscored Kentucky State 24–11 in the opening quarter, but the Thorobreds answered with a 24–11 surge of their own in the second to send the game into halftime tied at 35.
The Yellow Jackets regained control in the third quarter with a 17–12 edge to take a 52–47 lead, then closed out the game by outscoring Kentucky State 14–10 in the fourth to secure the 66–57 win.
