FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State women's basketball opens the 2025-26 season at home Friday, Nov. 14, hosting No. 2 Union at 4 p.m. inside the William Exum Center.
Series Overview
Friday's matchup will be the second meeting between the pair; the pair last met on Dec. 11, 2024, in Jackson, Tenn., where the Bulldogs came out on top 114-66.
About The Bulldogs
The Bulldogs were ranked No. 2 in the WBCA DII Preseason Coaches Poll and are off to a 1-2 start. In their most recent outing (Nov. 9), the Bulldogs fell 112-94 to No. 15 Minnesota State – Mankato.
Experience Meets New Talent
Kentucky State opens the 2025-26 season with a balanced mix of experience and new talent. Eight newcomers, including transfers
TaMaiya Mims,
Morganne Postell,
Jazmin Chambers,
Alycia Triplett, and
Amaya Asher, along with freshmen
Alexis Hayes,
Danauje Brooks, and
Saniah Sandlin, will make their regular-season debut.
The Thorobreds also return a veteran core led by seniors
Diara McBroom,
Amina Seck,
Amyah Adair-Mars, and
Bailey Lee, along with sophomore standouts
Brittany Campbell and
Aaliyah Hayes.
SIAC Preseason Honors and Predictions
McBroom was the lone Thorobred selected to the 2025-26 All-SIAC Preseason Team, earning third-team honors, as Kentucky State was projected to finish fourth in the SIAC West Division.
