MOBILE, Ala. – Aziel Blackwell leads Kentucky State with 25 points as Kentucky State falls 101-81 at Spring Hill Saturday afternoon.
Three additional Thorobreds joined Blackwell in double figures,
Gregory Melvin tallied 20 points, Lavar Miller added 19, and
Ogien Ayo contributed 12.
Spring Hill delivered a strong first-half performance, shooting over 50% from the field (21-of-40) and beyond the arc (9-of-17). Despite the Thorobreds converting 11 free throws, the Badgers' hot shooting propelled them to a 56-40 halftime lead.
The Thorobreds made a push in the second half, making 16 shots from the field, but Spring Hill held firm. The Badgers sank five three-pointers and 12 free throws to secure a 101-84 victory over Kentucky State.
Road play continues Monday, Jan. 20 at Tuskegee, tip is slated for 3 p.m. CT in Tuskegee, Ala.
