FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State University football meets their first SIAC opponent of the season Fort Valley State on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. inside Wildcat Stadium in Fort Valley, Ga.
 
LAST WEEK
In week one (Sept. 7) the Thorobreds met NCAA DI opponent Alabama A&M Bulldogs for the Louis Crews Classic in Huntsville, Ala. Kentucky State broke the shutout at 7:15 in the fourth quarter as Jaun Gainious found Jaden Hale in the corner of the endzone on an eight yard pass. The Thorobreds would fall to the Bulldogs 49-7.
 
A GLANCE AT THE WILDCATS
This weekend (Sept.14) Kentucky State will meet SIAC opponent Fort Valley State (0-1,0-1 SIAC) who lost 42-45 at home to in-state league foe Clark Atlanta (Aug. 31). Fort Valley's led the offensive charge David Wright completed 23 passes for 423 yards and seven touchdowns. Of those 23 completions he found Za Anderson and Brandon Marshall five times and each recorded one touchdown.
 
THE SERIES
Saturday's matchup will be 35th meeting between the pair and the third consecutive season of the two meeting. Fort Valley State leads the series 24-10 and defeated the Thorobreds in Frankfort 31-9 (2023).
