FINDLAY, Ohio – Two Kentucky State football student-athletes earned spots on the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Super Region Two All-Region team, announced Thursday. Junior defensive back Navy Curry was named to the first team, and senior punter Matt Bolanos earned second-team honors.
Curry, a junior from Athens, Georgia, led the Thorobreds with 247 interception return yards on four picks this season. He totaled 39 tackles, including 29 solo stops and 10 assists, along with three tackles for a loss. Curry also broke up five passes and forced one fumble, playing a key role in Kentucky State's secondary throughout the year.
Bolanos, a senior from Lake Elsinore, California, punted 46 times for 1,877 yards this season, averaging 43.4 yards per punt—eighth-best in NCAA Division II. He placed 15 punts inside the 20-yard line and booted nine for more than 50 yards, providing consistent field position advantages for the Thorobreds.
Selections to the D2CCA All-Region teams are nominated and voted on by sports information directors from schools across Super Region Two, which includes teams from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Gulf South Conference, South Atlantic Conference and Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
