ATLANTA – Kentucky State Football serves as the opening panel for the 2024 SIAC Football Media Day at the Chic-Fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Ga.
Media Day will begin at 7:50 a.m. with the Head Coach Felton Huggins Jr.,
Trevon Pope and
Bryce Boby Hayes taking the podium at 8:05 a.m.

HUGGINS ENTER YEAR TWO
Head Coach Felton Huggins enters his second season at the helm of the Kentucky State Football where he led the Thorobreds to 1,539 receiving yards, their highest total since 2014. He went on to finish the 2023 season 2-6 in SIAC play and 3-7 on the season.
FOUR THOROBREDS NAMED TO ALL-COMMONWEALTH TEAM
The Kentucky State Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Commonwealth Team for the upcoming 2024 season. Wide reciver
Markel Cotton, offensive lineman Walter McClinton, defensive end
Bryce Boby Hayes and
Monte Davis were named to the team.
NEW ADDITIONS TO COACHING STAFF
There will be some fresh faces on the coaching staff for the 2024 that include defensive backs coach Marco Sanchez, defensive line coach Lee Atkins, wide receiver coach Lavell Meeks and tight ends coach Terrell Lee. Huggins is expected to announce more additions later this July.
BREDS TELEVISED NATIONALLY
Three Kentucky State Football games will be featured on HBCUGo beginning with the Aug. 31 home opener versus Virginia Union followed with the Sept. 14 contest at Alabama A&M and concluding with the Sept. 21 matchup against Morehouse.
2024 SEASON OPENS AT HOME TO VIRGINIA UNION
Football will be back on THE HILL as Kentucky State host the 2023 CIAA Football Champions Virginia Union on Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. live on HBCUGo. The Panthers are entering the 2024 season with their first CIAA football title in over 20 years as they finished the season 10-2 that came to an end against Kutztown University in the NCAA DII Football Playoffs.
