SIAC Names Amani Williams Coach of the Year, Gracen Kerr Player of the Year and Taleah Dilworth to Second Team

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has named Amani Williams as Coach of the Year. In addition, Gracen Kerr received the Player of the Year award and was named to the first team, while Taleah Dilworth was selected for the second team.
 
In her very first year as head coach Williams has finished the regular season 19-6 (.760) and in SIAC play 15-4 (.789) to be named regular season West Division Co-Champs securing the #1 seed heading in to the 2024 SIAC Basketball Championship. During the season her team remained consistently on the Division II College Sports Communicators South Regional Poll and at one point notching fourth on the poll. Her team racked up four Player of the Week honors and one Newcomer of the Week honors that also helped her be named SIAC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year.
 
Leading the SIAC averaging 17.2 points per game and 4.9 assists per game along with being named SIAC Player of Week four times, Kerr was named Player of the Year and to the first team. This season she reached achieved her 1000th career point and had two double double with 16 points and 10 assists against Allen with her second being against LeMoyne-Owen with 11 points and 11 assists.
 
Finishing the season averaging 14.5 points per game ranking fourth in SIAC and defensively averaging 2.4 steals per game finish eighth in the SIAC. From the free throw line she was in a groove making 11 free throws against Benedict leading her to a 78% completion at the charity stripe earning the eighth spot in the conference. 
 
The Thorobreds will begin their Championship run on Thursday at the SIAC Women's Basketball Championship in Savannah, Georgia.
