ATLANTA – After their five-game homestead Kentucky State hits the road for Atlanta as they face the Morehouse Marron Tigers on Saturday, Dec. 14 inside Forbes Arena.
A tough 80-48 home loss to Albany State on Dec. 7 moved the Thorobreds to 4-4 on the season and 2-3 in SIAC play. Against the Golden Rams
Lavar Miller Jr. led the Thorobreds with 12 points and three steals.
On Dec. 10 the SIAC named
Aziel Blackwell as Player of the week for his standout performance against Edwards Waters (Dec. 2) with a career-high of 33 points that included a flawless 14-of-14 at the free-throw line. He maintained his momentum against Tuskegee on Dec. 4, scoring 20 points while shooting over 70% from the free-throw line (11-of-15). Blackwell continued his consistency at the charity stripe against Albany State on Dec. 7, shooting 5-of-6 (over 80%) to contribute seven points.
Kentucky State will be the first conference game Morehouse as they enter the matchup coming off of 77-63 loss to Florida Southern on Nov. 30 moving them to 2-5 on the season.
Morehouse leads the series 9-7 since 2011 as the Thorobreds snapped their five-game losing streak, winning their last meeting 85-79 on Jan. 4, 2024.
