FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State men's basketball overwhelmed Simmons College in a commanding 114-79 victory Tuesday afternoon at the Exum Center. The Thorobreds dazzled with a barrage of three-pointers, knocking down 25 shots from beyond the arc.
 
Aziel Blackwell led the offensive onslaught for Kentucky State, tallying 23 points, including five three-pointers. 
Lavar Miller Jr. added 18 points, also converting six three-pointers, while 
Deavion Scales contributed 14 points in just 11 minutes of play. The Thorobreds' bench provided a significant spark, contributing 61 points to secure the victory.
 
Kentucky State established dominance early, scoring 63 points in the first half behind 15 three-pointers. They capitalized on Simmons' 20 turnovers, translating them into 38 points. Despite a strong effort from Simmons' Gavin Withrow, who scored a game-high 23 points, the Falcons struggled to keep pace with Kentucky State's high-tempo offense and efficient ball movement.
 
Simmons' struggles were highlighted by their inability to guard the perimeter, as Kentucky State shot an impressive 48.1% from three-point range. The Thorobreds also out-rebounded Simmons 44-41, with 
Tyson Brooks grabbing seven boards and Blackwell adding seven more.
