HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Lavar Miller Jr. led all scorers with 19 points, while
Ogien Ayo notched a double-double as Kentucky State fell 85-59 to Northern Kentucky in an exhibition game Saturday at Truist Arena.
Miller went a perfect 4-of-4 at the free-throw line and made six shots from the field to lead both teams with 19 points. He also led the Thorobreds with four steals and one block.
Ayo went 75% (3-of-4) from the three-point line to score 13 points while grabbing ten rebounds to record a double-double.
Gregory Melvin led the Thorobreds making five free-throws and scored 11 points during the game.
Northern Kentucky shot 47.2% from the field and sank eight three-pointers to build a commanding 50-30 lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Thorobreds out rebounded the Norse 22-19 and scored 13 second-chance points but were narrowly outscored 35-29. Northern Kentucky would go on to win the game 85-59.
Kentucky State will host Thomas More on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. inside the Exum Center
