FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State men's basketball returns 10 players and adds four transfers as they embark on the 2024-25 season. The Thorobreds will begin their season at home on Nov. 13 against Tiffin, with tipoff set for 6 p.m.
Dr. Jamaal Jackson enters his ninth year leading the Kentucky State men's basketball program. During the 2023-24 season his team finished with an overall record of 12-14 and 9-11 in SIAC play.
Kentucky State returns 10 student-athletes for the upcoming season, including six seniors:
Jaylen Daughtery,
Lavar Miller Jr.,
Tyson Brooks,
Justin Edmondson,
Nick Cross, and
Ogien Ayo. The roster also features three juniors,
Tayzhean Archuleta,
Aziel Blackwell, and
Morgan Brewer, and one sophomore,
Cordell Livingston.
Four transfer juniors will be making their debut in the green and gold, guard
Deavion Scales from Erskine College, guard
Keon Henderson from Schoolcraft College, forward
Gregory Melvin from East Los Angeles College and forward
Chase Dumas from Huntingdon College.
The 2024-24 regular season will begin at home on Nov. 13 to non-conference opponent Tiffin. On Nov. 23, the Thorobreds will play in their only exhibition at Northern Kentucky and end the 2024 portion of their schedule at the Chris Paul HBCU Challenge in Montville, Conn.
