FRANKFORT, Ky. – Fourteen Kentucky State men's basketball student-athletes score points in 97-75 win over the Simmons College of Kentucky Falcons, Tuesday afternoon in the Exum Center.
 
Six Thorobreds reached double figures in scoring, with 
Josiah Mitchell leading the pack with 16 points. Following closely were Justin Edmonds with 13 points, and a trio of 
Aziel Blackwell, 
Ogien Ayo, and 
Lavar Miller Jr. contributing 11 points each. 
Brandon Hill rounded off the scoring with ten points in the contest.
 
Kentucky State held the lead for over 19 minutes in the first and took their largest lead of 13 points (45-32) at 2:15 in the first half.
 
The Thorobreds found their groove in the second half taking a 31-point 78-47 lead at the 10:59 mark. Six points form 
Justin Edmondson led to a 10-0 Kentucky State run that led to the 97-75 victory.
 
Next on the schedule is conference play as they journey to Alabama to face Tuskegee on Saturday, Jan. 13th, at 2 p.m. CT. Following Tuskegee, the Thorobreds will face Spring Hill on Monday, Jan. 15
th.
