FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State University Defensive End Jeremiah Owens was selected to participate in the 2024 Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl last Friday, Jan. 5.

In a spectacular season with the Thorobreds, Owens totaled 16 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks through nine games. In his college career, Owens has racked up 144 total tackles, 43 tackles for loss, and added his first blocked kick in the 2023 season.

Kentucky State head football coach Felton Huggins Jr. said, "We are so proud of Jeremiah for this achievement. When I got here in February, J.O. sat with me with a goal to get invited into the hbcu legacy bowl, and use that as a spring board to make it to the next level and his hard work throughout the season came to fruition. We here at KSU are so excited for this honor."

The Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl is a postseason game showcasing the best NFL draft-eligible players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the United States. The game will take place on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 3:00 p.m. CT in New Orleans, La. on the NFL Network.
