PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Kentucky State men's golf leads conference teams in the third round to finish the 2023 SIAC Golf Championship in third as individuals
Micah Stangebye,
Max Dufey, Rhett Johnson, and
Jean-Marc Chevrotiere finished in the top ten.
Spring Hill College won the tournament with a three round team total of 904, Savannah State finished in second with 905, and the Kentucky State Thorobreds finished in third with a total of 906.
Savannah State's Jaden Saunders won the tournament as an individual with an even par 216.
The Thorobreds opened the championship with a 300 in the first round, 309 in the second, and all teams in the third round with a 297.
Stangebye led Kentucky State finishing the tournament with a three round score of 223 (R1: 72, R2: 77, R3: 74).
Dufey improved three spots to finish fifth after improving by one stroke each round after an opening 76, second round 75, and final round 74.
Johnson moved up two positions on the second day to finish tied for eighth with 228.
Ryan Khounlavong finished the tournament tied for 24th with a three round total of 244.
