The season is not quite over for a couple of members of the Kentucky State University Men's Basketball Program.
Jalon Andrews,
Jay Murrell, and Head Coach Dr.
Jamaal Jackson will be representing the Thorobreds in the 'HBCU Classic for Columbus All-Star Game'. Players from HBCUs will be competing against top players from Ohio's colleges and universities. Murrell and Andrews will be coached one last game by Jackson as he leads the HBCU team alongside Norfolk State University Head Men's Basketball Coach Robert Jones. The HBCU team was victorious in the inaugural 2022 game.
"I'm thrilled to be involved in this game for the second time. This is not your typical all-star game. There will be agents and professional scouts watching the practices as well as the game, so it'll be a very intense and competitive few days. I'm glad that we had a couple of players selected that are able to participate and represent Kentucky State University", Coach Jackson said.
The Kentucky State University Men's Basketball Team advanced to the SIAC Tournament semifinals before finishing the season with a 15-13 record. The Thorobreds will look to reload this offseason as they lose seniors Andrews and Murrell,
Kong Kong,
Montrell Jacobs,
Shamon Mosley, and
Elijiah Lockhart who together represented 90% of the Thorobreds' SIAC leading 80 points per game.
The Classic for Columbus All Star Game will take place at 5:00pm on April 22 at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. Tickets can be purchase at
