CLEVELAND, Miss. – Three consecutive rounds under 294 by the Kentucky State men's golf team at the Cleveland Country Club leads to a comeback team victory at the Darrall Foreman Invitational in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Robert Johnson finished the tournament in second,
Micah Stangebye tied for third, and
Max Dufey tied for seventh.
Jean-Marc Chevrotiere finished right outside the top ten in 12th.
As a team, the Thorobreds opened with a first-round 286, and
Robert Johnson and
Max Dufey led their team with an opening round 70. Stangebye followed with a 75, and Marc Chevrotiere and
Ryan Khounlavong completed the round with a 78.
Kentucky State Shot their lowest round of the season and led the field with a second-round 285. Stangebye fired a three-under 68, and Marc-Chevrotiere and Johnson shot an even-par 72. Khounlavong finished the second with an 81.
In the final round, the Thorobreds led all teams with a score of 290. Three Thorobreds, Johnson, Stangebye, and Marc-Chevrotiere finished the final round with a one over 72. Dufey scored a 74, and Khounlavong tallied an 83.
