SAVANNAH, Ga. – A strong first half by the Savannah State led to a 75-65 defeat of the Kentucky State Thorobreds Saturday afternoon in Savannah, Georgia.
In the first half Kentucky State led the contest with 13 defensive rebounds and shot 75% (12-of-16) from the charity stripe. The Tigers capitalized with 16 second chance points to lead 33-27 at the end of the half.
The Thorobreds made three three-pointers and 15 free-throws to be narrowly outscored in the second half 42-38 by the Tigers.
Savannah State was able to hold off the Thorobreds after a strong first half and win the contest 75-65.
Khalif Crawley Jr. went 12-of-14 at the charity stripe to lead the Thorobreds with 16 points along with earning 10 rebounds to earn a double-double.
A Look Ahead
League play will continue as the Thorobreds meet the Edward Waters Tigers on Monday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. in Jacksonville, Florida.
