SAVANNAH, Ga. –  The Southern Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (SIAC) named Gracen Kerr to the 2023-24 Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Second Team during the 2023 SIAC Basketball Media in Savannah, Georgia.
 
During the 2022-233 season Kerr led the Thorobreds averaging 11.7 points per game. Among the SIAC she was second in assists per game at 3.9, second in three-point field goals made averaging two per game, and eighth in steals per game averaging 1.9. Shooting 78% at the free throw line assisted with pushing her team lead the SIAC in free throw made per game.
 
Kerr said following the announcement, "I'm grateful for the recognition, I'm glad I have the opportunity to do it while representing Kentucky State. I'm looking forward to accomplishing more with the team."
 
Assistant women's basketball coach Amani Williams said, ""I'm excited for Gracen, I'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves, not only for herself but for our program. Just because you start with the honor doesn't always mean you end with it. Now that she has this title, she must hold herself to a high standard to let the conference know, that she is the player they recognized."
 
Kentucky State women's basketball will begin their 2023-24 season with an exhibition on Oct. 24 at Morehead State tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
