Louisville, Ky. - The Kentucky State indoor track and field teams placed in multiple events Monday, January 16th, at the Humana HBCU invitational at the Norton Sports and Learning Center.
Both teams placed within the top 3 scores, Women's placed second, and Men's finished third.
Treyvon Beasley secured the Thorobreds a win after his first-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.95. Beasley ran a 22.72 in the men's 200-meter run to finish third.
Senior
Esperance Nibitanga ran a time of 1:53.20 to finish second in the women's 600-meter run.
The Thorobreds had representation in both the Women's and Men's 60m hurdles. Teammate
Jaylynne Williams finished third in her 60m hurdle event with a time of 9.69 seconds.
Damien Ross placed second in the first heat.
The meet concluded with the host Kentucky State placing third in the 4x400m relay;
Arinn Hayes led, followed by Nibitanga, Williams, and
Kyla Overstreet.
Other participating universities included Allen, Bardstown, Bluefield State, Lane, LeMoyne-Owen, Philander Smith, and Tennessee State.
