BRASELTON, Ga. – Men's Golf finished second as a team, two Thorobreds tied for second, Jean Mar Chevrotiere,
Micah Stangebye, and
Robert Johnson tied for fifth at the HBCU Invitational D2 at the Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, Georgia.
As a team, the Thorobreds opened round one with 318 and improved 20 strokes in the second round with a 296. Kentucky State had the lowest tournament round in the final round, with a 291.
Chevrotiere opened the first day with a 75 and 76, and completed the final with a -2 (69) to finish seven-over for the tournament. His teammate Stangebye had a rough first round of 80 but went on to improve in the second with a 72. He improved in the final round with a -3 (68) to finish tied for second with his teammate.
Johnson had a strong performance with a first-round 76 and a 75 in both the second and final round to finish tied for fifth.
Will Gibson completed the first round with an 87 and improved in the second with a 75 and a 79 in the final round.
Ryan Khounlavong rounded out the day for the Thorobreds with a first-round 87, second-round 81, and a final-round 86.
