Thorobreds This Season

In week one, the Thorobreds suffered a tough 33-10 loss to non-conference opponent Delta State.
Kentucky State faced SIAC opponent Fort Valley State in a non-conference contest for week two. It was a low-scoring battle as the Wildcats held off the Thorobreds 9-7.
After a low scoring first half (10-3), the Dayton Flyers took momentum in the second half to win the game 46-3.
League play will begin week four at Benedict College, the game is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside the Charlie W. Johnson Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.

Scouting the Tigers

The Tigers are undefeated (3-0) on the season and in SIAC play (1-0).
To begin the 2022 campaign the Tigers hosted non-conference opponent Elizabeth City State and defeated them 58-14.
In week two they kept Lane College scoreless and won the game 14-0.
Benedict met Savannah State in week three for a Thursday night contest on ESPNU as they went on to defeat the Savannah State 24-6.

Since 1999 both teams have met 16 times with the series being split 8-8.
Both teams last met Sept. 25, 2021 in Indianapolis for the Circle City Classic where the Thorobreds defeated the Tigers 34-28.
On the road the Thorobreds are 4-4 and have won the last two matchups.
There have been a total of 386 points scored with an average 24.12 points scored per game.
