FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State University sophomore kicker and punter
Forest Gantz has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Co-Special Teams Player of the Week following an impressive performance in the Thorobreds' 55-22 victory over Lane College.
The Dayton, Ohio, native delivered a perfect kicking performance, connecting on both field goal attempts and all seven extra-point attempts to account for 13 points. Gantz converted a 22-yard field goal as time expired in the first half before adding a 31-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Gantz also made an impact in the punting game, recording four punts for 162 yards and averaging 40.5 yards per punt. His performance included a game-long 59-yard punt and one punt downed inside the 20-yard line.
On kickoffs, Gantz totaled 488 yards on nine attempts, including three touchbacks, helping the Thorobreds maintain favorable field position throughout the contest.
Gantz's contributions across all three phases of the kicking game played a key role in Kentucky State's victory over the Dragons.
