Frankfort, KY. - Kentucky State men's basketball fell short in an overtime thriller at home to Miles College 77-74
Three Thorobreds scored in double figures;
Jalon Andrews led the way with 16 points shooting 2-2 from three and 7-12 overall.
How It Happened
Kentucky State battled back and forth the entire game. After an initial 7-0 run to start the game from Miles, KSU brought the lead down to 1 on a layup from
Montrell Jacobs to make the score 13-12 with a little under 15 minutes left in the first half.
K-State would exchange baskets with Miles throughout the first half and end with Miles leading at the break 34-31.
The second half would lead to more of the same, with eight lead changes throughout the game. In the second half,
Jay Murrell came off the bench and provided a spark making two threes, the second of which gave KSU the lead with 5:26 left in the second half.
In the final minute of the second half,
Jalon Andrews hit a game-tying three with 47 seconds left, which would send KSU into overtime.
In overtime, the Thorobreds would run out of steam offensively, managing to score a late three with no time left on the clock to fall 74-77 to Miles College.
