ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) named Senior Laurie Thomas to the 2022-23 SIAC Women's Basketball Preseason Second Team. 

During the 2021-22 season, Thomas led the Thorobreds with 270 points averaging 11.74 per game. She amassed 173 rebounds that, included 90 defensive and 83 offensive. During the season, she earned numerous SIAC weekly honors as well. 

Along with naming both preseason teams, the conference projected Kentucky State to finish fourth in the west division.
