Post-Game Quotes
In Head Coach
Jamaal Jackson's opening statement, he said, "The guys know every game what we need to do. It is a matter of whether we execute on the floor or not, and we had 16 assists tonight, which is the most that I can remember in the last couple of years. And we also had four guys in double-figures. Anytime we get four guys in double figures and 16 assists, or even just one of those, is good. I know we're moving the ball looking for the open man. That's what we do. We try to get the ball into the paint. Every time we get the ball into the paint, we'll get a wide-open shot, if not a layup."
Having size on the defensive end led to Kentucky State's success Head Coach Jackson said, "It helps us to have some lengthy players. Like
Kong Kong is about 6'4 6'5, long arms so we put him at the top of our press so guys like him with length, and even if he's not stealing the ball from out of their hands, his length is making it difficult for their passes and then our other two starting guards, Gadson and Jacobs, were rotating well, getting the passing lanes. Everybody was playing off each other, being where they were supposed to be. As I said, things are starting to come together for us."
