FRANKFORT, Ky. – Thorobreds battled to the end and fell just short to the Tuskegee Golden Tigers 69-67, Monday Night inside the Exum Center.
Kentucky State would see much success as a team in the first half. They would score 20 points from turnovers and outscore the Golden Tiger 20-16 in the paint. The Thorobreds led the half from the field, going 13-of-26 and 5-of-8 from the free-throw line. The Golden Tigers would have a single-digit 38-33 lead at halftime.
The second half would come down to the final moments, with Elijah Lockhart tying the game on a lay-up in the paint that turned into a three-point opportunity after a foul from Tuskegee. He would convert the three-point attempt and tie the game 67-67 with 19 seconds left. Kentucky State would send the Golden Tigers to the free throw line to make both attempts and win the contest 67-69.
