Second Half Rally Not Enough to Defeat the Big Blue

FRANKFORT – The Kentucky State women's basketball team dropped their final game of the home series 58-72 to Bluefield State. 

The Thorobreds shot 75% from the three-point line in the first quarter, falling 11-22 at the end of the first. 

The Thorobreds finished the second quarter with the Thorobreds shooting 75% from the free-throw line and trailing the Big Blue 16-9. 

The Thorobreds rallied in the third quarter, completing 100% of their free throws, and outscored the Big Blue 16-13 at the end of the third quarter.

The rally continued into the final quarter of play with a strong 22-22 even finish to end regulation play. 

A rally in the second half wasn't enough to overcome the Big Blue and ended regulation with a 72-58 loss.

Junior Sarah Woghiren led her team for the second straight with a series high of 23 points.
