Henderson Hits Double Figures in Loss to Allen

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A fourth-quarter rally pushed Allen University to a 57-53 victory over Kentucky State at Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. 
 
A tightly contested first quarter led the Yellow Jackets to outscore the Thorobreds 18-14. Hannah Henderson led Kentucky shooting 100% from the field and free-throw line for a total of six points, along with two assists and one steal.  
 
Henderson would lead the Thorobreds with six points in the second quarter, leading Kentucky State outscoring Allen 16-11 in the second quarter. This would push the Thorobreds to a 30-29 lead at the half. 
 
Kentucky State would hold the Yellow Jackets to seven points to take the third quarter 13-7. 
 
Allen would rally in the fourth quarter and close out with a 21-10 lead and win the game 57-53. 
 
The Thorobreds led the contest scoring 28 points from turnovers, and their bench outscored the Yellow Jackets bench with 18 points. 
 
Henderson had a big night with 16 points, three assists, two rebounds, and two steals. Laurie Thomas nearly had a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.
