Two players reached the 20-point plateau for the Kentucky State University men's basketball team, but it wasn't enough as the Thorobreds fell to Clark Atlanta, 69-62, Monday in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at the William Exum Center.
Senior
Jordan Little (Jersey City, N.J.) notched his ninth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while senior
Grant Goode (Matawan, N.J.) added 20 points, six boards, two assists and a steal.
Kentucky State falls to 6-8 overall, 3-4 in the SIAC, while Clark Atlanta improves to 6-9 overall, 6-1 in the SIAC.

Turning Points
Clark Atlanta went on an 8-0 run late in the first half to give the Panthers their first double-figure lead of the game. Kentucky State pulled to within four on a couple occasion.
Kentucky State had cut its 18-point deficit in half with a little over three minutes remaining, but a second-chance three-pointer push the deficit back to double digits and stemmed any momentum.
Individual Leaders
Other than Little and Goode combined for 41 points, senior
Shaq Athie (Cincinnati, Ohio) pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds – 11 on the defensive end – with eight points. Athie entered the game second in the conference in defensive rebounds.
Coach Speak
"Too many turnovers and too many missed opportunities," said Kentucky State head coach
Jamaal Jackson. "We shot 59 percent from the free throw line. We missed 14 free throws in a seven-point game. We missed a lot of layups and turned the ball over 22 times. That is the tale of the tape right there."
Inside the Box Score
Kentucky State went 0-for-12 from three-point land, including 0-for-10 in the first half.
The Thorobreds dominated the glass, outrebounding CAU 58-33. The 22 offensive rebounds allowed KSU to scored 19 second chance points.
KSU took advantage of the Clark Atlanta miscues, scoring 18 points off 12 turnovers. On the other side of the spectrum, CAU scored 20 points off 22 Thorobreds turnovers.
Clark Atlanta had 10 blocks on the game and 13 steals.

It is rivalry week for the Thorobreds as Kentucky State travels north on the interstate for a meeting with Central State 3 p.m. Saturday.
