Kentucky State University head men's basketball coach has been selected to coach at the NCAA College Basketball Academy.
The Academy, which is broken into four regions, is in two sessions – July 22 to 25 and July 25 to 28. Jackson will be participating in the Midwest Region, hosted by the University of Illinois. It aims to integrate the higher education experience with the traditional recruiting process through high-level instruction and educational opportunities to prepare recruits for a successful college experience.
The Commission on College Basketball, following counsel provided by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, recommended the creation of regional basketball clinics as part of its outline to reform college basketball by enhancing the recruiting environment.
"I'm looking forward to working with these up and coming student-athletes," said Jackson. "It's a rarity that I get to do any coaching during the summer, so I'm really looking forward to getting back on the court to do what we as coaches love to do, teach the game."
More than 150 participants, all registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center, are slated to participate in the second session of the Midwest Region.
