DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Kentucky State University senior
Ditalion Battle has been honored by the Division II College Commissioners Association for his play on the court.
Battle (Cincinnati, OH) earned second team All-South region honors in vote of NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors from institutions and conference offices in the South Region. The region is comprised of members from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Gulf South Conference and the Sunshine State Conference.
"After getting off to a slow start, Ditalion finished the season playing as well as anyone in the country, and this award is much deserved," said Kentucky State University head coach
Jamaal Jackson. "I thoroughly enjoyed coaching Battle these past two seasons."
He earned first team All-SIAC honors after leading the conference in scoring with 19.3 points per game, which is more than a point higher than the SIAC's second leading scorer. Battle connected on 3.1 three-pointers per game, tying him for the SIAC lead. He was ranked amongst conference leaders in several categories; fourth in assist to turnover ratio (1.5), eighth in assists (3.3), 11th in steals (1.5) and 14th in three-point percentage (.359).
Kentucky State finished the season 13-14 after falling in the first round of the SIAC Tournament.
