Football announces 2019 schedule

Kentucky State University recently announced the 2019 football schedule, which features three home games and a return to the Circle City Classic. (2019 Football Schedule)

"Our schedule is obviously very difficult and demanding," said Charlie Jackson, new Kentucky State University football head coach. "We have a tremendous amount of work to do in order to be competitive against these established programs with winning cultures. I am ready for the challenge and so are the coaching staff and players."

The Thorobreds kick off the home portion of their schedule Sept. 14 against Tuskegee University. Mark your calendar for the Homecoming game on Oct. 12, as the Clark Atlanta University Panthers visit Alumni Stadium. 

Kentucky State will honor the contributions of its senior class in the final home game of the season against Edward Waters College in non-conference action Oct. 26.

Three classics highlight the football schedule, including the Sept. 28 match-up against Division I Jackson State University in the Circle City Classic. After a one-year hiatus, the Thorobreds return to Lucas Oil Stadiumin Indianapolis for the prestigious event. 

Kentucky State plays Lincoln University (Pennsylvania) in the Ol' Man River Classic in Gary, Indiana Sept. 21, and travels to the St. Louis Football Classic Nov. 23, playing Lincoln University of Missouri. 

Fans will get their first opportunity to see the 2019 Kentucky State University Thorobreds Saturday, April 13 as Kentucky State will have its annual spring game.

Reserved seats for individual games are $15, while general admission seats are $10. Tickets for Homecoming are $40 (reserved) and $25 (general admission). For more ticket information, please contact the Kentucky State University ticket manager, Kim Harriford, at (502) 597-6487.

The first game of the Charlie Jackson era will be at Robert Morris University Sept. 7.
