Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Kentucky State University women's basketball team dropped its final non-conference contest of the season, falling to Bellarmine Saturday, 73-57, at Knights Hall.
A pair of extended runs, ending the first and second quarters, proved to be the pivotal portions of the game. The Knights have a 16-2 run to end the first quarter and a 14-2 run to end the second, and Kentucky State trailed by 17 points at the break.
Seemingly every time Kentucky State made a run, the Knights had an answer. The Thorobreds trailed by as much as 17 in the third quarter, but after a three-pointer junior 
Khaliah Herbert (Crete, Ill.) – Kentucky State trailed by nine with 8:49 remaining.
A four-plus minute scoring drought hampered any thoughts of a comeback as the Bellarmine lead ballooned to 21 points.

Erica Jones (South Haven, Miss.) battled foul trouble to record her first double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Senior
 Carnethia Brown (Louisville, Ky.) added 10 points, while senior 
Amani Williams (Scotch Plains, N.J.) dished out a team-high six assists.
Kentucky State (4-4 overall) return to action 1 p.m. December 14, hosting Paine College in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.
