KALAMAZOO, Mich. – When it was all said and done, the Kentucky State University women's basketball team was still unbeaten on the 2019-20 season.
Division I Western Michigan University scored the game's first 23 points en route to the 80-41 win over the Thorobreds in an exhibition game for Kentucky State. With the new NCAA rule, the game counts for WMU, but not the Thorobreds.
Kentucky State outscored the Broncos in the second quarter, 13-11, and improved its shooting percentage in every quarter. The Thorobreds finished 15-of-66 (22.7 percent) from the field and 2-of-20 (10 percent) from three-point range. Kentucky State was 9-of-12 (75 percent) from the foul line.

Carnethia Brown (Louisville, Ky.) led the way with 13 points, while junior
Erica Jones (South Haven, Miss.) added 10 rebounds, seven defensive, and six points.
Kentucky State (2-0) returns to the court 2 p.m. Saturday against West Virginia State University.
