The Kentucky State University football team looks for its first four-game winning streak since a five-game streak in 2004 as the Thorobreds travel to Miles 3 p.m. EST Saturday. The Thorobreds will also be seeking their first winning season since 2011.
RECENT HISTORY: Miles has won eight of the last nine games, including a 24-21 comeback victory in which the Golden Bears drove 78 yards in less than a minute for the win. The string came after the two team split the 14 games prior to the latest stretch.

Brett Sylve was 10th nationally, and second in the SIAC, averaging 28.6 yards per kickoff return.

Brett Sylve has started to get going on the ground. After averaging 83 yards per game through the first three games, Sylve is averaging 138 in the last four.
        The three games have boosted his season average to 116.3 yards per game, which leads the SIAC. He is also tied for the conference lead with eight total touchdowns and seven rushing scores.

SLOW START: Kentucky State has only scored six points in the first quarter this season. Their lone points came via a touchdown against Jackson State in the Circle City Classic.

SHAKY FINISH: The Thorobreds have allowed more points in the fourth quarter than they have in the first three quarters, combined. Kentucky State is yielding 58 points over the first three quarters and have surrendered 64 points in the fourth quarter.

Michael Bobak and the coverage teams, the Kentucky State punt coverage team is tied for the national lead in punt coverage defense allowed -0.25 yards per return.

In fact, Kentucky State is currently third nationally, and first in the SIAC, in time of possession - holding the ball for 34:41. Division II leader Eastern New Mexico possesses the ball for 36:04.
        Kentucky State has won the time of possession battle in six its seven games this season.

PASS EFFICIENCY: Kentucky State leads the conference in passing efficiency with a rating of 156.60. The Thorobreds have thrown for eight touchdowns and just one interception.

THIRD DOWN CONVERSATIONS: The Kentucky State football team is on opposite ends of the third down conversions spectrum. KSU leads the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in third down conversion, converting 40 percent of their opportunities.
