FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State football enters the 2026 season ranked No. 6 in the Preseason HBCU Division II Coaches Poll powered by BOXTOROW.
The Thorobreds are one of six Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference programs represented in the preseason top 10. KSU is ranked ahead of No. 8 Edward Waters, which was selected first in the 2026 SIAC predicted order of finish, along with No. 9 Allen and No. 10 Tuskegee.
Benedict leads the conference's representation at No. 3, while Albany State is ranked fourth after receiving one first-place vote.
Now in its fifth year, the HBCU Division II Coaches Poll is administered by BOXTOROW and voted on by head coaches from HBCU NCAA Division II programs.
