THE TEAMS: Kentucky State (3-4 overall, 1-2 SIAC) has dropped two straight games after losing to Lane College Saturday, 82-76. The Thorobreds are 1-4 away from the William Exum Center this season.
LeMoyne-Owen (6-2 overall, 3-0 SIAC) enters the game on a five-game winning streak after dispatching Central State University, 69-61, Saturday. They are third in the SIAC in scoring with 76.0 points. The Magicians were picked fourth in the West Division of the SIAC.
THE COACHES: Jamaal Jackson is in his third season at the helm of his alma mater. The Thorobreds are 21-39 under Jackson. Kentucky State has been one of the top scoring teams in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference under Jackson. He came to KSU following a stint at Bluefield State College, where he led them to increased win totals in every season. The same can be said about his tenure at Stillman, where the Tigers improved upon their win totals.
William Anderson is the Head Men's Basketball Coach at LeMoyne-Owen College. Coach Anderson is a native of Memphis and was a standout basketball forward at LeMoyne-Owen College, while earning his bachelor's degree in Social Science. From 2000-2009, Anderson was the Women's Basketball coach as well as the Head Men's and Women's Tennis coach at LeMoyne-Owen College
THE PLAYERS: Senior forward
Kevin Hayes has been the top scorer in every game this season, and is leading the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with 20.6 points per game. He scored a career-high 27 points in Saturday's loss to Lane College. The forward is playing a team-high 33.1 minutes per game.

Ditalion Battle is averaging 10.1 points, while senior
Austin Sherrell drops 9.5 points for the 'Breds.
LeMoyne-Owen has four players averaging double figures and two more dropping in 9.7 points. Devin Booker is leading the team with 12.6 points, while Jerry Hurt is second with 11.1 points. Jaquan Lawrence is pulling down a team-high 5.4 rebounds.
