The Kentucky State University women's basketball looks to improve to 4-0 this season as the Thorobreds host the University of Alabama Huntsville 6:30 p.m. at the Exum Center. The game serves as Youth Sports Day, and two teams from the Frankfort YMCA will be scrimmaging during halftime.

THE TEAMS: Kentucky State is unbeaten (3-0) after recording a 41-point victory Saturday over University of Campbellsville Harrodsburg. The Thorobreds limited their guests to just two first-quarter points in opening the home portion of the schedule with a resounding victory.
The University of Alabama Huntsville was picked to finish tied for eighth, with Christian Brothers University, in the preseason Gulf South Conference poll.
THE COACHES: 
Terrance Slater is in his third season as the head coach, and fifth season with the program. The Thorobreds are 23-33 in his tenure as a head coach. He led Kentucky State to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinals a season ago.
Andrea Lemmond is in her fifth season as the UAH head coach. In the 2017-18 season, the Chargers picked up eight more victories than the season prior, including a signature win over rival North Alabama in the last visit to Spragins Hall by the Lions, and under Lemmond's direction, Chandler Elder became just the second player in program history to rank in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, and assists.
THE PLAYERS: Senior 
Tara Jefferson has been the leading scoring in two of the team's three games, and is dropping in a team-high 13.0 points per contest. She is one of four Thorobreds averaging double figures through three games. Junior college transfer
 Jessie Kee is coming off the bench to score 11.0 points per game.
Junior guard Aryn Sanders was the lone UAH player in double figures, scoring 23 points in the Chargers' 68-58 loss to Trevecca Nazerene Saturday. She shot 10-of-19 from the field with 12 rebounds, 11 coming on the defensive end. Junior forward Katie Speegle added eight points, seven rebounds and a team-high three blocks. Speegle is the top returning scorer from last season, scoring 11.3 points with a team-high 35 blocks.
