CANTON, OH – Three players reached double figures, but the Kentucky State men's basketball team lost to Malone, 82-54, Saturday in non-conference action.

Kevin Hayes (Detroit, MI) went over 10 points for the third straight game with 16 points to lead the way. Senior

Felix Wilson (Lexington, KY) each tallied 10 points with six rebounds.
Malone seized control of the game with a 13-2 run late in the first half, pushing the lead to 16 points, as the Thorobreds shot just 1-of-7 from the field during the pivotal four-minute stretch. The Pioneers, meanwhile, went 6-of-9 from the floor – including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Kentucky State improved in the second half, shooting 35 percent from the field over the last 20 minutes. Meanwhile, after the Pioneers shot 51.5 percent in the first half – the Thorobreds held them to 45.2 percent in the second half.
The Thorobreds (1-2 overall) will be home Noon Tuesday, hosting Cedarville in non-conference action. The game will be Frankfort Independent Day as all K-8 students from the Frankfort Independent School district will be in attendance.
