Jackson, Tenn.—Kentucky State University men's basketball ended its season series against Lane College with 79-63 loss at J F Gymnasium on Saturday.

The Thorobreds (6-14, 5-8) went 0-2 against the LC on the season marking the third straight season the program has been swept in the annual conference season series. KSU has now lost seven straight to the Dragons (7-10, 5-7), with the last win coming on Feb. 5 of 2015.

The two squads played a competitive first half, with a 32-32 tie at intermission. LC proceed to go on the attack to start the second stanza with a 16-4 run to pull ahead of the Thorobreds, a lead they wouldn't be able to overcome down the stretch.

Junior guard
Felix Wilson led the Thorobreds in scoring for the first time in his career with a career-high 16 points, marking the first time he has scored double-digits in a game since Dec. 30, 2016. The Lexington, Kentucky native went a near perfect 5-of-6 from the floor and 5-of-7 from the free throw line.

Ray Croon followed the lead of Wilson by adding 14 points of his own, shooting 5-for-11 from floor. Since returning to the Thorobreds lineup on Dec. 30, Croon has scored 14 points or better in all six games to lead KSU in scoring with just over 16 points per game.

KSU will be back in action on Monday Jan. 29 with its second contest of the season against LeMoyne-Owen College. KSU took down the Magicians back on Nov. 30 with 100-90 victory in the Capitol City.
