WBB Falls on the Road to LeMoyne Owen College, 81-77

Memphis, Tenn. - Kentucky State University, women's basketball, fell in SIAC action, 81-77, to Lemoyne-Owen College on Saturday evening at  Bruce Hall Gymnasium.
 
Senior forward Aliyah Gipson led the charge for KSU (9-11, 5-6 SIAC), netting a season-high 19 points and grabbing four rebounds while senior forward Logan Powell and sophomore center Brooke Wallace each added eight points for the visitors.
 
The Thorobrettes found themselves in foul trouble early on, committing eleven in the first half. Despite the foul trouble, the offensive production of KSU, which included making 18-of-38 attempts from the floor was enough to give the visitors a 40-33 advantage going into halftime. The Thorobrettes were unable to maintain the momentum as they were outscored by the Lady Magicians 48-41 in the second half to lose the contest.
 
The bench made a difference for KSU, combining for 28 points in 72 minutes of action for KSU, compared to LOC only accumulating 10 total points.
 
The Thorobrettes will be on the road for their second straight contest, traveling to Mobile, Ala. against the second place SIAC West Division Spring Hill College at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
