WBB Comes Up Short to LeMoyne-Owen College, 64-55

Frankfort, Ky. - Kentucky State University, women's basketball, fell 64-55 in SIAC action to Lemoyne-Owen College Saturday afternoon at the Exum Center.

Junior guard Brittani Rizzi led all Thorobrettes (10-14, 6-9 SIAC) with 17 points, netting five shots from behind the arc. Senior forward Aliyah Gipson added 16 points of her own, making six of her eight attempts from the charity stripe for KSU.

Rizzi and Gipson led the charge for the Thorobrettes in the first half, both scoring nine points to give the home squad a 28-21 advantage over the Lady Magicians heading into halftime.

KSU was unable to continue its momentum in the third quarter, as it was outscored by LOC 27-15 to trail 48-43 going into the final stanza.

The Thorobrettes could not mount a comeback against the Lady Magicians in the fourth quarter as they dropped their second straight contest in the process.

The KSU bench outscored the Lady Magicians' bench 34-13 in the loss.  

The Thorobrettes will play their final home game against SIAC opponent Spring Hill College on Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. Seniors Logan Powell, Aliyah Gipson, and Vinsetta Covington will be honored later on the evening at halftime of the men's game.
