Frankfort, Ky. - Kentucky State University women's basketball picked up a decisive 80-68 victory over SIAC rival Central State University during Saturday evening's homecoming matchup at the Exum Center.Â

Nashaye Sutton made all eight of her attempts from the floor and all three from the free throw line to net a season-high 25 points for KSU (10-12, 6-7 SIAC). Senior forward
Aliyah Gipson added 20 points and grabbed six boards to the cause while senior forward
Logan Powell recorded 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds in the contest.
The Thorobrettes jumped out to a big lead in the first half, Â outscoring the Lady Marauders 48-29 off an impressive 17-of-29 team shooting performance from the floor.Â
KSU struggled with the stifling CSU full-court pressure after halftime as it was outscored 39-32 in the second half. Despite the second-half struggles, the Thorobrettes' big first half was enough for the home squad as they picked up their tenth win of the season.Â
KSU Â will be on the road for its next game as they visit Lane College in Jackson, Tenn. on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
