Box Score
Frankfort, Ky.—Kentucky State University women's basketball upended fellow Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member LeMoyne Owen College, for a 63-61 victory on Thursday night at the Exum Center.

The Thorobrettes (2-6, 2-1) picked up their second win over their last three games after starting the season 0-5. The Lady Magicians (3-4, 2-1) had their three-game win streak come to an end and dropped their first conference match of the season.

The freshman experience of guard Wynter Webb and forward Erica Jones told the story of the first half as they combined for 21 points and nine rebounds. KSU took a 40-33 lead into the half and looked to add on in the third quarter. The Thorobrettes went into the final frame with a nine-point lead of 51-42, but LOC kept the game within reach.

The Lady Magicians narrowed the gap to one and eventually took the lead at 58-57 with 2:35 to play. Following a three-point play the old fashion way by Jones, KSU rode the momentum with the lead to the final of 63-61.

Jones finished the night with a season-high 18 point and a team-high nine rebounds, including six offensive rebounds.

Webb was not able to add to her explosive first half, finishing with 10 points and five rebounds. Senior guard Brittani Rizzi accounted for 13 points, hitting 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, along with four assists.

KSU will be back in action at home on Saturday against Lane College at 1 pm ET.
