Mobile, Ala.—Kentucky State University volleyball repeated its performance from the previous SIAC Cluster at Central State University, by going 3-2 in the SIAC Cluster at Spring Hill College over the weekend.
Previously in the CSU Cluster the Thorobrettes (19-10, 12-4) fell to SHC and Tuskegee University, two weeks later, KSU answered back by taking down TU, while still coming up short to the Badgers on the first day of the two-day event.
With five matches remaining on the season, KSU will head back to the Capitol City for three of those five matches at home. The Thorobrettes will have two of the remaining five matches against conference rival CSU. The Thorobretes will be back in action against the Lady Marauders on Tuesday at 6:00 pm ET, inside the Exum Center. Tuesday night will be "Pink" night and fans are encouraged to wear their favorite pink attire to join in with KSU to bring awareness to the fight against breast cancer.

The Thorobrettes cruised through the first match of the day, winning each set by nine or more points for a sweep of TU, 3-0. KSU outdid the Golden Tigers in kills with a 35-13 advantage, while only tallying 12 total errors.
Freshman outside hitter
Robin Poole led the green and gold with 10 kills for her 14th match of 10 or more kills in a game. The Katy, Texas native recorded a .333 hitting percentage as she challenged the TU defense with 21 total attacks.
Sophomore setter
Hannah Smyers picked up 28 assists, notching another match of 20 or more assists on the season, giving her 20 in 2017.

Senior middle blocker Landri Greathouse recorded a team-high nine kills, as KSU dropped its second match of the season to SHC in a 3-0 loss.
The Badgers played a perfect match only accounting for seven total errors, and capitalizing on all 16 miscues by the Thorobrettes.
Poole turned in an all-around performance as she finished with six kills and six digs.

After going 1-2 on the first day of the SHC Cluster, the Thorobrettes needed a bounce-back performance on the second day, and it started with a 3-0 defeat of Lane College.
Freshman outside hitter
Makayla Martin collected her fifth double-double of the season with 13 digs and 10 kills. Greathouse led the Thorobrettes in kills with 11, while freshman
Gabriella Gracia added a team-high 20 digs.
KSU outdueled the Lady Dragons in both kills with a 42-21 advantage and in digs with a 59-45 upside. As a team, the Thorobrettes finished with a .288 hitting percentage, out doing their season percentage of .166.

The day concluded with a second sweep, this time against Miles College, as the Thorobrettes sat in the driver's seat through the duration of the match.
Each set, except for the second set, was determined by double-digits. Greathouse led the Thorobrettes for the second time in the cluster as the Crowley, Texas native notched nine kills along with Martin for 18 of the 36 combined kills. Greathouse added three blocks as she sits as the No. 5 blocker in the SIAC with 72.
