Georgetown, Ky.— Kentucky State University volleyball fell on the road to Georgetown College 3-1 (8-25, 25-20, 14-25, 14-25) at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym on Tuesday night.
The Thorobrettes (5-6) went 4-1 over the weekend in the SIAC Cluster at the Exum Center to propel them back to the .500 mark, they now move to one game under the equator. The Tigers (12-2) have won seven in a row and remain undefeated on their home floor.
Georgetown took the first set in convincing fashion with a 25-8 mark, but KSU showed its resilience in the second set. Led by senior defense specialist

Sherry'ce Butler the Thorobrettes brought the match to an even score with a 25-20 victory. Hayes and Butler accounted for 13 points in the set via kill, assist, or creating a fault by the home squad. KSU snapped a 19 set win streak by Georgetown dating back to September 2nd against Warner University.
The Tigers proved to be too much, taking the third and fourth sets with a 25-14 advantage.
Butler finished with a team-high 11 kills but only finished with a .167 hitting efficiency. Sophomore middle blocker
Payton Richardson followed her up with nine kills on 19 total attacks, finishing with a team-high .263 hit efficiency.
KSU will host Asbury University at the Exum Center on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. ET.
